The Board and the Participants of the Regina Music Festival announce our Festival Sponsor

The G. Murray and Edna Forbes Foundation

The Regina Music Festival Association gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the G. Murray and Edna Forbes Fund at the South Saskatchewan Community Foundation. The South Saskatchewan Community Foundation (SSCF) is a public foundation that serves the people of southern Saskatchewan. It invests in long-term impact in the community through legacy (endowment) funds.

WELCOME!

The Regina Music Festival Association is a registered charitable organization, run by dedicated volunteers. As a charity, we offer income tax benefits to our financial supporters. Volunteers play an essential role in the festival, serving as secretaries to the adjudicators and assisting as door personnel. Our board members are also volunteers who generously dedicate their time outside of their regular jobs to organize this annual celebration of the arts.

The Regina Music Festival Association relies on the support of local organizations and the generosity of individuals like you to continue our long-standing tradition of hosting this important cultural event.

IT TAKES OVER 1750 VOLUNTEER HOURS TO PRODUCE THE REGINA MUSIC FESTIVAL EACH YEAR.

President’s Message

A woman wearing glasses and a black shirt smiles for the camera

Welcome to the Regina Music Festival 2024! We are most grateful to the G. Murray and Edna Lloyd Foundation and the Saskatchewan Community Foundation for our presenting sponsorship.

We are now back to a full in person Music Festival and we are thrilled to see more entries this year. What a joy to see so many musicians making and sharing their music with an audience of their peers! This year we are again in the beautiful Conservatory of Performing Arts as well as the newly renovated Darke Hall. We hope you will all come to our final competitions in this magnificent space.

I would like to thank the students and of course their teachers and parents, for continuing to put in the countless hours and dedication it takes to participate in the Regina Music Festival. You are all winners! I hope you will make friends and contacts that will last into the future. Perhaps next year you can enter a duet or chamber group with someone you competed against this year. You might hear new pieces you want to play or learn new techniques. Please take pictures, have fun and share your experiences with us at our selfie station. We have new social media accounts and invite you to join us on Instagram and Facebook. Our Website is also updated and improved and we urge you to explore it thoroughly.

The RMFA would not exist without the wonderful volunteers, board members and sponsors who so generously offer their time and resources. Our sponsors and advertisers are more fully listed on the website. I thank you all and look forward to enjoying the product of your work. We are also indebted to the SMFA for their leadership and for hosting the Provincial Competitions, in which many of our entrants will participate.

May I wish you all the best in your performances and your musical studies. I know that parents, relatives, teachers and peers and will greatly enjoy what you present! And please let us know what you liked about the Festival and what we might do to improve your experience.

President’s Message

A woman with long hair is wearing a black shirt and a brooch.

Welcome to another music festival season! It's a busy, but exciting time for students, teachers, and most of all our District Festival planning committees and the SMFA staff.

On behalf of the SMFA Board of Directors I would like to thank you for your hard work and dedication to ensure a successful music festival for all. If you aren't on a committee, consider joining! Most of all, be sure to thank your local committee members for all that they do!

Music and spoken word will be filling our venues this spring. Good luck to all participants, and thank you for working so hard to prepare. Audiences across the province are ready to support your endeavors. Adjudicators are ready to encourage and guide you on your journey.

I am so proud to be part of this organization. Saskatchewan has the best music festival system in Canada!

Have a great festival season!
