Andrée Dagenais, an associate professor at Brandon University (BU), has been the director of choral studies since 2000. Her BU Chorale has performed at the Winnipeg New Music Festival and with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra on a number of occasions. Under her direction the BU Chorale was selected to perform at the national conference hosted by Choral Canada in 2016. Her choir has also performed in various venues in Canada, Europe, Cuba and Brazil. As a guest conductor, Andrée has performed at the Choralies Internationales in Edmonton, with the Ensemble vocal de l’Université de Poitiers in France, and in Brazil and Estonia. In Manitoba, Andree conducted the Provincial Women’s Voices Honour Choir and also at the International Music Camp. She returns regularly to Québec to guest conduct. She has led choral workshops in France, Venezuela, Western and Eastern Canada and in Mexico last November. Andrée is an associate researcher for the Conseil National de Recherche Scientifique at the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles. She is currently working on a critical edition of Pierre Robert’s grands motets. She holds a doctorate degree from the University of Iowa.
